" As he reached the end of the list, he paused at the lone V. Every other entry had a first and last name, but he’d just put a V for Vanessa the first time he’d programmed her into his phone and never bothered to change it. He’d always sort of loved the simplicity of it. Why would he ever need to say more than that?"I absolutely love it when I can relate random things back to other things that I love. Like, how awesome can you be, world?
A few quick things I wanted to touch on before I forget.
♥ - I had a meeting at work this morning (I HAD TO GET UP A 6:45. ON A SUNDAY) and at said meeting, our visual merchandiser for men's announced he's leaving next month. This comes off the heels of two other managers leaving in the past three months which sucks epically. However, he has very, very good reasons for this!
He finally obtained the money he needs to start his own fashion line, which is tremendously exciting, I can't even begin to explain how excited myself and the rest of our store is for him. He has until January to complete his line and then he'll be showing it in March (so our entire store is probably going to book off the show date to go, haha) which is just so, so exciting.
His name is
David C. Wigley and I would like you to remember it, please! If you google him some of his work pops up here and there and a lot from his Worth by David C. Wigley line that he showed last year at F.A.T. (Toronto Alternate Fashion Week). He has a ton of talent and potential and he is an absolute sweetheart. So! Yes! Yay!
♥ - The Jimmy Choo for H&M line comes out this Saturday. Out of our approximate 1,800 stores, only
200 are carrying the line worldwide and only
four of those stores are in Canada (Eaton Centre and Bloor St. locations in Toronto, Pacific Mall in Vancouver, and the Ste-Catherine St. store in Montreal, JSYK). And I, my lovely friends, and going to be the sole member of our staff team at store CA 034 to attempt to get a piece of the collection. CAUSE I AM CRAZY AND REALLY WANT ONE OF THE HANDBAGS.
The way it works is that the first 160 people receive a wristband. Those 160 lucky peeps get first dibs on the
accessories colllection, aka the shoes, bags and jewelry. You have fifteen minutes to shop and then you can go look through the clothing line. After two hours, the whole line will be open to everyone. So needless to say, I am getting up at the crack of dawn to drive to Toronto to wait in line for a handbag, a pair of earrings and maybe a dress. IDEK. (
I get my staff discount on this stuff, though, too, so you know...)
♥ - Lastly, fic? Where the hell have I been and when am I going to update? Honestly, I don't know. The last chapter of Cherubs is not coming along the way I want it to and I am prepping Length and Width of Summer to send to the betas in the next couple of weeks. I hope to wrap up Cherubs this week and then maybe I'll get around to updating Thieves etc. The one thing I'm expecting, however, is to work on my fic a lot more slowly than I have in the past. So yeah. IDEK.
